Leonard Reginald Gribble (1908-1985), one of the founders of the Crime Writers’ Association and a prolific author, mostly focussed on policing and the judicial system, he also wrote under the pseudonyms of Sterry Browning, Leo Grex, Louis Grey, Piers Marlow, Dexter Muir and Bruce Sanders; he also wrote some Westerns, and Landon Grant.

Octavo (book size 19.5x13.3cm), pp. 288. In publisher’s red clothspine and front panel lettered in black, top edge stained red. Dust jacket priced ‘$2.00’ to lower corner of front flap, all flap corners with publisher’s decorative trim, rear upper corner more severely, and with colour touch-up to spine, outer edges and folds, and paper restoration to corners and spine ends. Dust jacket about 1.5mm shorter than book, as noted on other copies.
