  First edition, fourth issue, as most copies are (although Bibliography of American Literature (BAL 22632) states this is tentative), and the fact this has a 1903 gift inscription makes this clearly printed the first year of publication. With page 325, line 9 "Don't turn in at the side"; Page 327, line 13 "October sun" for “October noon”, and in binding A with publisher's imprint on the spine in letters 1/16" high.

Provenance: A neat contemporary 1903 Christmas gift inscription to a Delia L. Hodgkins (?). Small Massachusetts booksellers label to rear pastedown.
