The 59 lithographic plates employ various techniques, many in colour.

Formerly owned by an Artilleryman who served at the battle of Mesnines, and was injured at Ypres, according to the small hand-written notes he has left in the margins (see page 186, 206, and 274, for specific references). There is are also some flowers placed between pages 212 and 213.
