A fine first edition of the wonderful Latin translation of Winnie-The-Pooh by Dr. Alexander Lenard which he first printed in Brazil for private distribution in 1958, with a number of Shepard’s illustrations from the original book. The maps of the wood used for the endpapers is also in Latin. Due to popular demand, Methuen of London released this public edition, which went on to numerous printings.

Included is the original Times Literary Supplement revue of May 27, 1960, which was entirely in Latin! (quoted above). Also with ‘
A Tribute to Alexander Lenard’ from the ‘Listener’ (10 August 1972), and two other smaller reviews.
