Two large octavo volumes (binding size 23.2x16cm), pp. [2] xii 396 [2]; [2] viii 390 [3 (’Works Relating to the Turf’)] [1] 32 (publisher’s catalogue dated Ovtober, 1879) [2]. Finely bound in later full crimson crushed morocco, spines decorated with appropriate gilt motifs, lettering and rule, upper boards with double black filet borders enclosing original illustrated gilt and black cloth covers, rear boards with single black filet borders, marbled endpapers.
