The Tale of Tom Kitten - Beatrix Potter 1907 - Frederick Warne and Co, New York - First American Edition Once upon a time there were three little kittens, and their names were Mitten, Tom Kitten, and Moppet.
They had dear little fur coats of their own; and they tumbled about the doorstep and played in the dust.

In 1905 Beatrix Potter bought Hill Top, a farm in Lancashire, work began on
Tom Kitten in 1906 and its setting became the Hill Top farmhouse. Illustrations depict the interior of the house and the gardens, paths, and gate at the front of the house.
